Over the past holiday weekend there was an increase in shootings across the United States, but more specifically in Chicago. In the past 10 days Chicago police have fatally shot 4 suspects. The most recent case happened late Sunday night on the west side. This shooting occurred on the 4500 block of West Washington. A man was shot by police after officers responded to a domestic battery and found a 26 year old pregnant women shot in the abdomen. The man then aimed his gun at the police and shot twice giving the police a provoked response to shoot and kill him. Many are saying this is a suicide by cop event however it is still under investigation, and the women is in critical condition.
